Our next house/pet set was back in Brittany looking after the adorable Rosie. Such a
fun-loving dog, always one step behind us, wherever we went. She journeyed out with us most days, enjoying the markets as much as we did (why wouldn't she with all those wonderful sniffs!)
Here is her blog on how she found the whole house/pet sitting experience:
True Life Confessions of having house/pet sitters (Tom and Sue) at my place
by me, Rosie the Dog aged 4 years
My name is Rosie and I am a 4 year old Silky Terrier (although often compared to a Teddy Bear). I am cutie and I know this. I find I can wind most people around my tiny little paw, with one bat of big brown eyes or a flick of my fluffy ears.
The assignment
To pamper me (24/7) for the duration of my family/owners trip. To take me on my favourite walks around the local lake or to a new place to explore with you.
Please note I like to have food and water available, as I like to graze during the day. However, I do enjoy toast and marmalade in the morning and the odd tidbits. I will inspect these prior to consumption just to make sure you are not trying to poison me.
I like to sleep with “my pack” and promise to take up residency at the bottom of YOUR bed…..I do not like my OWN bed!!! I do promise to stay there until you waken, but when I hear your stir I will pounce and supply you with lots of loving kisses (sloppy licks!). Ladies… beware men fall in love with me very quickly!!!!
My family
I was rescued when I was 3. Unfortunately I did not have a great start in life and was neglected and I think a lady used to raise a stick to me and called me by a boy’s name……I do not like sticks and I am very wary of the female race! However, since my new family came into my life I have had a wonderful time. I am spoilt rotten and I love it! I live in a lovely home and have a huge garden to play in (great for sniffs too!)
The reality (and the gossip) on the home/pet sitters - Tom and Sue
I was a little apprehensive when I first met Tom and Sue, although I did my best to greet them and make them feel welcome.
Tom quickly became my friend…actually he was a pushover (I think it was love at 1st sight). I liked Sue too, but just wanted to make sure she was happy to share her man with me. Fortunately, she accepted me and we too became great pals and I welcomed them both into my “pack”.
We had lots of fun filled days out. I love travelling by car and let them know by jumped in quickly once the door was opened…there was no way they were going anywhere without me! I showed them round my local haunt by the lake, I think they liked it too as they took me back most days. I also managed to crash in on excursions to some new and exciting places,. I wanted to stop and greet all the other dogs along the way…..I do like to make new friends!
The sleeping arrangements for the “pack” worked out well after I showed them that I was boss and that there was no way they were getting rid of me. I showed my gratitude by giving them lots of kisses and a bed bath when they awaken. Think they liked it as they screamed and laughed at me a lot.
Playtime was fun too. I pretended to bite them and they seemed to enjoy a little light play fighting which resulted in me on my back with my legs in the air (that’s me not Sue) getting by belly tickled…I really enjoyed this!
In summary
I really liked my 1st house/pet sitters. They were good fun and I enjoyed my time with them. However, the time went very quickly and soon it was our last day together. My owners arrived back at midnight and I did pop down to say hello but thought I’d better spend the last night with my new “pack” Tom and Sue (I am sure my family understood)
They left early the next morning .I did try to hide in the car when they were leaving but they found me,……what a shame quite fancied a holiday in Spain
Think they will miss me J
Rosie
