When we first started out on our adventures House/Pet Sitting, we really had no idea just what wonderful people we would get to meet along the way, some of whom, would become great friends.
This is so true of the owners of the Manor House in France. We were offered our first assignment there approximately 6 months prior to the actual sit. During this time we would often skype with the owner Suzanne and actually felt we knew her quite well even before we arrived. Her husband, I think initially, was somewhat reserved about the whole idea. Prior to the sit we were literally passing within a few miles of their home and Suzanne suggested we come by for dinner and meet Jacques. This turned out to be a wonderful idea and we had a very pleasant evening with them both. Jacques felt a lot more relaxed about the house/pet sitting arrangement.
After our house/pet sit last year and spending a few additional days with them both. We got to know them really well and forged a very strong friendship. Over the next few months we kept in touch hearing their news and regaling stories of our adventures. Suzanne on hearing that I had a big birthday due in April made us the most amazing offer - would we like to use the Manor House and have our friends and family stay for a birthday bash whilst they were away on holiday? WOW! She was very insistent and after some negotiation (we would pay the cleaners and towards the cost of the household utility bills for this period), we accepted her fantastic offer.
Our friends and family arrived and we had the most wonderful week, full of fun, laughter and happy times. We have so many wonderful memories that we will carry with us always.
We cannot begin to express just what a wonderful, kind and generous couple Suzanne and Jacques are. Had we not started on our adventures House/Pet Sitting I do not think our paths would not have crossed, but I am so very glad that they did. They are wonderful friends and we love them both. Thank you Suzanne and Jacques x
